i doubt he'll get hurt unless his face is right there at it. when it pops out, it is eselaerd from a gas pressure. the pressure is more harmful than the gas is from what i've seen in my manual. it will happen so quickly like within a couple of seconds and yal will see a white cloud which i think will be a type of powder/gas.actually, i'm not even sure that it will do anything cuz when a air bag pops out, it is triggered through a sensor from the front end (some have the sensors on the sides also). when the sensor is triggered, it will then pop out. most sensors are triggered to go off when hit at 35mph.instead of him cutting it, why don't he take the whole thing out and sell it. ppl are always looking for airbags that are yet intact as they are hard to come by and are pretty expensive. sometimes you can buy another car cheaper than what you have to pay for an airbag. plus some insurance companies would rather total a car out than pay to replace an airbag.
